About The Artisan

The Artisan was created in 2023 by Jeanne O. Whitehouse for her antique, vintage, and art business. Jeanne found a passion for antiques as a child but finally put things into motion when she started buying furniture for her sister Cathy's guest room. She found a desk, chalk painted it white, and taught herself how to decoupage. It was her first project, and with the encouragement of family and friends she made more pieces to complete the room. One thing led to another and she was hooked.

Jeanne started a space at Main Street Antiques in Woodland in December 2023 where she put her eclectic, creative style into play. Her non-traditional approach to selling antiques was well-received and she decided to open a store of her own in March of 2025. As an artist, Jeanne knew the challenges that artists and crafters faced in selling and marketing their creations so she created an affordable venue where they could promote and sell their products to their community.
